I think it was the 4th of July… nope, make that the 7th of September! Is there anyone out there who remembers that song?
Well, it’s been a blessed day! Friday night we rented a family movie to watch, then got up early Saturday morning for my special ham, cheese and egg omelets and out the door to pick up my mom. We dropped her off at her appointment, then went shopping for a few essentials, such as coffee creamer, tea bags, and a few items for mom. After picking up mom and taking her home, we opted to run by a nearby carwash to wash and vacuum the van.
… I wrote the above paragraph yesterday while planning our day, but it didn’t happen the way we planned it. Actually we did most of it, but not in the order expected.
We left extra early to wash, vacuum and clean out the van before picking up mom, so we didn’t have time for omelets. I am looking forward to making them tomorrow (Sunday). After picking up mom, she suggested we have brunch nearby at a favorite restaurant (breakfast buffet at Shoney’s). Afterwards we spent several hours with her, shopping and spending time together.
One big choice we made recently was to purchase a water dispenser. It holds a 3-gallon, 4-gallon or 5-gallon bottle in the bottom and the water is pumped up into the dispenser to produce hot, cold, and room temp water. Guess what? The grandchildren LOVE water coming from the dispenser – it’s fun!
I’m headed to the table now to work on the quilt we are sewing for my grandson. I’m going to do my best to finish it tonight.
Tomorrow we are planning to visit a nearby park for a picnic and to give the grandchildren time to ride bikes and scooters.
