Today marks one year since the death of my dad (U.S. Army, retired).
Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills,
from the sky;
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.
Rest in peace, Dad.

I knew him as Papaw.
He always greeted me with a smile and a laugh (well, until later years). I always greeted him with a hug.
He loved “his chair”. Never sat still though. He was always twiddling his thumbs. He was full of energy, life!
He is deeply missed. But I am glad he is in Heaven now, where there is no pain and he has a new body! I look forward to seeing him there, ready with a smile and a laugh.
Rest in peace Papaw. We’ll see you again one day.
