We recently made a visit to our “old” hometown…
I had thought it would take years to get acclimated to a new area, and it’s possible if we had moved thousands of miles away that we would have had a harder time adjusting, but the fact is, the area around us isn’t much different than where we previously lived.
Driving down the highway, heading to Walmart, my daughter points out areas that seem familiar, such as the drive out to Oak Ridge.
A drive to our favorite stores at Indian Lake in Hendersonville reminds us of the Turkey Creek shops in the Farragut area.
Even driving to work makes me think of driving through Clinton or Halls Crossroads, heading towards downtown Knoxville. Getting off the exit at I-65 to Rosa Parks is as familiar as getting off I-40/I-75 at West Town Mall.
So it’s only been a few weeks in our new town, but we already feel right at home!
We feel so blessed to still have our beloved mountains… and the only thing we seemed to have lost is the humidity we had in Knoxville.
we don’t miss that at all !!!
God bless you and have an amazing day!
