Sharing my good days and bad days

hot… cold… hot… cold…

second-guessing the weather!

Just a few weeks ago, we had a some pretty warm days…

2 days later it snowed — a lot! I’m talking 8-9 inches of snow! Enough to close the state offices, which almost never happens.

The next week, all the snow melted and the temps stayed in the 60s…

Yesterday when I left work it was 84 degrees…
this morning it was 40 degrees…

How’s a person supposed to know what to wear?

How’s a person supposed to get used to it?

Crazy? …that’s Tennessee weather.

At least the work week is half over…

God bless you!

Heading towards the snow…

Heading towards the snow!

We’re getting ready to head towards Huntsville… this week they received nine inches of snow (and ice). But that’s where we’re going.

Crazy? …probably.

Scared? …definitely.

Still going? …yup.

If we make it back, I’ll let you know.

God bless you!

snow… what snow?

Where’s the snow!

Yesterday it began to snow… some weather reports stated we were in for a blizzard! They were even calling it the blizzard of 2015!
This is what we expected…
We would have loved this…
But nope. nada. nothing.

I guess it’s just not meant to be — at least in Middle Tennessee.
God bless you!

This has NOT been the best trip…

First, the flight to Baltimore was not a direct flight, as expected. But it worked out ok.

Then I was sitting in the desk chair last night and it flipped over on its’ side, knocking me to the floor. I received a few scratches, scrapes and bruises, but nothing major.

Today the super shuttle was 30 minutes late… and the other 3 passengers came really close to getting into an ugly, dangerous fight!

I was sitting next to a man who got very upset with the others, cursing and threatening them. It was a scary situation, to say the least.

I sat still and prayed for help, protection and guidance…

… and the man turned to me and apologized to me!

We chatted the rest of the time until we got to the airport. He was very polite to me the entire time.

When I told a friend, she said God had used me as an angel. I kinda felt that way. God surely blessed me tonight!

Our plane, being delayed 45 minutes, is now boarding so I’m heading home!

God bless you! Good night!

Singing in the rain…

How many of you enjoy thunderstorms?

I love all types of weather… but falling snow and thunderstorms are my favorites.

However, my grandchildren don’t enjoy thunderstorms – my young granddaughter cringes at the first “crack” of lightning! Then she runs for Mom!

Sometimes she’ll snuggle in my lap and I try to help her see how beautiful it can be… how God’s power is so much more than the lightning and He is watching over her.

Last year we seemed to have a shortage of rain; this year we have plenty of rain, and when I watch it coming down outside my apartment window, it makes me yearn for my own home… and a porch. Years ago when I rented a house, I would sit on the porch swing and watch it rain. Even in the winter, I would simply wrap a warm blanket around me, and sit out on the porch, enjoying the rain.

Well, God hasn’t blessed us with our own home yet, and it’s possible I won’t have a home until I reach Heaven. But while I’m here I’m going to keep on watching and praying for a home here on Earth… a place where we can have a small garden, and a few chickens, and plenty of room for the grandchildren to safely roam.

Of course I’ll write about it… if I find it.

In the meantime, I’ll give Him praise for what we do have… a comfy apartment.

God bless you and good night.

Ode to Autumn

I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did!

JC's BookShelf

All around us we are beginning to see signs of the marvelous changes coming our way.

Before we know it, the humidity will be replaced by a cool, crisp autumn feel of fall in the air. The leaves will change colors and float gracefully from their trees, covering the ground in a multi-colored quilt.

The leaves will change colors and float gracefully from their trees, covering the ground in a multi-colored quilt.

We’ll soon start seeing pumpkins everywhere. The trees & bushes are getting ready for a good long rest. The animals are storing up food and getting ready for hibernation.

We’ll pack away the swimsuits, pull the scarves and hats out and the kids will start complaining about having to wear their coats.

The pools will be tucked away, the outdoor furniture will get packed up and the…
